Keeping Watch was my first Gray Timber Wolf drawing. I fell in love with wolves many years ago and after completing Keeping Watch, I chose to use it as my logo. But why use a wolf as a logo for a Nebraska artist when there are no wolves in Nebraska? Because wolves DID live here and went extinct in our state when the last one was killed in 1912. Recently there have been sightings and two confirmed killed in the last year (2021). Although there are no established packs, occasional sightings of Gray Timber Wolves are not uncommon.
Interesting Fact: Wolves are family (pack) oriented and the entire pack will help care for the pups. Mothers will stay in their dens with their pups for up to a month, not even leaving to eat. Other members of the pack will bring food to the mother.
