I definitely have a soft spot for Canidae and the Red Fox is no exception! These beautiful creatures are one of my favorite to paint and draw. They are also one of my favorites to watch. I've had numerous evenings on my front porch watching the foxes come out to hunt or seeing young fox kits playing in our backyard in the late afternoons.
Interesting Facts: A Red Fox can hear rodents digging miles under ground. A Red Fox can hear a rodent under snow and will suddenly jump into the air and pounce head first into the snow taking the rodent by surprise. Red Fox have more than twenty different calls.
