Bee Unique is a special piece to me.  I created for a fellow artist who loves the color teal, flamingos and bees.  Because I learned colored pencil techniques (as well as many other mediums) from her, I wanted to make something special for her as a thank you.  That's when I came up with the design of Bee Unique.  She is always saying what makes your artwork look realistic is your contrast, not using the perfect colors.  I wanted to prove her right and decided to draw a flamingo, but change it's feathers from pinks to teals.  Needless to say she loved it.  This is probably my favorite piece to date.  Not only because of the reason I made it, but because it's a reminder that we are all unique and that's what makes us wonderful!
