Another of my favorite cats, the Cougar. This beautiful girl is peeking out of the darkness watching her prey. Moonlight is casting shadows of tree branches across her face.
Interesting Facts: A Cougar can jump 18 feet high from a sitting position. Cougars are also called Mountain Lions and Pumas. Although they can not roar, Cougars can make calls which sound like a human's scream. Cougars are ambush predators who stalk their prey from the shadows and pounce when the opportunity is right. Despite people's fear, there have been less than two dozen fatal attacks on humans in the last 100 years.
