Solitary Song was my first colored pencil piece and one which still brings a smile to my face. Our state bird, the Western Meadowlark is such a beautiful bird with a lyrical song. Known as a gentle bird these bursts of yellow plumage on the prairie are cheery sight! I've always felt fortunate when I am able to hear their song or catch a glimpse of their beautiful yellow feathers.
