Description

“Charlotte” is an 8 x 10 inch giclée archival print of  the Graphite Portrait of an Educational Ambassador female Peregrine Falcon from Fontenelle Forest Raptor Recovery. (Falco peregrinus)

Charlotte lives in the Raptor Woodland Refuge where you can visit her.

Did you know: A peregrine falcon can dive up to 200 miles (323 kilometers) an hour to capture prey in flight, striking in midair with its outstretched talons, or claws. Peregrines usually hunt with either a swift chase or a fast dive. Starlings, pigeons, and doves are among their favorite meals.

They’ve been called “Duck Hawks” because of a sound they make which resembles a duck quack.
